Favorite Reads of 2019 Thus Farkk

So here’s my first official post about books, not just stating I’m going to be talking about books. Hence, I’m making decent progress. My plan is to post on Wednesday and Saturday every week. Though I may post on Monday as well. It’s all tentative at the moment.

So, I’m picky about books. I believe my average rating on Goodreads falls at about 3.7 stars or so. That being said, when I talk about favorite books, these are the ones I gave five stars. I don’t do this very often… but here are my favorite reads of this year so far.

This spans from January to August 2019 with just a small reason I loved each book.

Riley Sager is one of my favorite writers. Final Girls was fantastic. So is this book. If you enjoy creepy stories and not knowing what will happen next, this is the book for you. I just enjoy thrillers so I couldn’t get enough.

Such a beautiful memoir. I love Michelle Obama as a person and reading about her life so far was great. I loved how she met Barack and just her willingness to talk about her life and how much she has accomplished. There’s a reason everyone was talking about this book.

Another book everyone has talked about. I love young adult fantasy so this book is obvious. Some people love it… others don’t. I like the dynamic between Jude and Cardan. This series keeps me on my toes and I can’t wait for the last one.

If you don’t know me well, I live for the 80s and 90s. I read all of these books growing up because I was a lonely child with no friends. But books were there and a book about all the books I grew up on just makes my heart swell. Definitely a must if you want nostalgia.

Stephanie Land wrote a memoir that resonates with me so well. Living paycheck to paycheck and just trying to survive. It’s a scary reality many people face. Her honest story about a life a lot of people lead shows what living in gross places are like, working bad jobs, and just trying to survive. This book should be a must to show how bad society has become for many people… but also there’s hope in the story as well.

I don’t think I can say anything that hasn’t been said by a million others. Super adorable. Everyone should read this book. Adorable. Amazing. Love this book so much.

Unsub Series is a surprise find. I had the second book in my piles of books from moving and wanted to read it. These books follow serial killers and can be dark. But the protagonist Caitlin is such a bad ass and the dark nature of these books draws me in. The first one is so amazing. The second one is too because the killer is kind of like Ted Bundy so I couldn’t stop reading. Dark thrillers which are a must to anyone into serial killers and the like.

I found this book in a Facebook group I’m in for reviewers, it’s the first in an indie series. It’s about a vampire named January who’s trying to find out how she became this way and the strange world she lives in with a guy named Justin who showed up and just offered to be her blood donor. Their relationship is toxic at times, but they have this strange chemistry. This book reads more like new adult to me, and I hope the author actually does new adult. This book is addictive because of the storyline and the way the author just creates the tension between the main character and her love interest.

Share and Enjoy !
