Today I’m going to be sharing my favorite books to read if you’re snowed in for the day. I know this may be happening soon to many people with the weather being how it is. I usually stay at home most of the time so I suppose I have snow days all the time (and terrible anxiety but let’s not talk about that now). Plus, we haven’t had snow yet enough for it to stay a long period of time so I don’t fully feel the winter affect except the cold. I like the snow… minus when Ethan has to work a lot… but just as something aesthetically pleasing and not to shovel or drive in. That’s why I want to move to Tennessee where there’s no snow.
Heidi’s Guide is one of my favorite books of the year. I couldn’t stop listening or laughing. It’s set in Minnesota so if you’re from the Midwest, it make you either love where you’re from or want to go home. It’s a fairly long audio book so you could just sit back and relax, listening to this hilarious book. I can’t recommend this one enough. You’ll be laughing so hard you’ll forget about all of the snow.
Harry Potter is great all year round, but I think it’s good for snowy days too. You can read the book and then watch the movie, which will take up a lot of time. Not to mention, the book has the best Christmas and winter scenes so you can just imagine you’re spending the snowy day at Hogwarts or wandering the streets of Diagon Alley instead of stuck in your house while it snows. Unless you live at Hogwarts so you’re already winning.
Even though this book is set over the course of a year, it’s made for a snow day. Because while you can enjoy winter scenes, you can also recall the days there was no snow and you didn’t have to shovel or drive with other crazy people who can’t drive in the snow. Plus, love stories which take place over a set amount of time are so much fun to see how they end up together.
I don’t have siblings, so I’m just guessing being stuck inside on a snow day is like having siblings. I’m only guessing so don’t be mad if I’m wrong. Or it’s like having multiple kids where it ends someday, but it’s hell in the meantime. I’m glad to be an only child and only have one tiny human. So anyway, this book is about having a sister and how to deal with that. It’s just such a cute book you’ll be reading it and forget about the snow. I love Raina Telgemeier and all of her books. I’d definitely suggest all of her graphic novels.
What books would you love to have on a snow day? Are there any other items that are a must on those days when you’re inside while the snow just keeps falling? I’d love to know what books or what you’d do on a snow day. Let me know, I’m always down to chat.
