I love medical shows so this book was a must for me. I could watch The Resident for days and never get bored. I could not be a doctor, But I love to watch them on TV. So this book was one I needed to read immediately. Vi wants to be midwife and she has her longtime friend Zoey for support. But Vi also has to deal with some strong anxiety. She hopes she can make it through her first year and be able to embark upon the career she has longed for her whole life.
I have anxiety and was in college, so I could easily relate to a lot of the feelings. But I don’t Think I would ever want to have the school experience again. At least in person. Definitely much better to do online. Vi goes through her whole year and works hard to deal with her anxiety and pass her classes. It definitely brought me back to my times when I was in college and how it was the most exciting and yet scary times.
I’m not going to say I hated this book, I loved it. However, there was a lot of details about childbirth and such that may not work for some people. I had terrible trauma from giving birth myself, so it was bit hard to handle. But it isn’t anything too terrible, but just something to be aware of for those who may be bothered by the subject matter at hand.
I thought this was a wonderful book and the characters were awesome. I also thought the anxiety rep was well done.
This was a great book, and I had a lot of fun reading. It reminded me of watching medical shows, which was fun. I will be reading the book Ghosted since this is its prequel as well. Highly recommend for fans of strong anxiety rep and those interested in midwifery.
