The Line of Duty by Nichole Severn
Genre: Romantic Supense
Format: eARC via NetGalley
Read: August 30-31, 2020
I saw the cover, and I knew I had to read the book. I just loved the man with his long hair. So, that is why I chose the book. But I ended up really liking this book.
This is part of a series, so I am sure it would make more sense in order. But I was okay reading it on its own. Please do heed the reviews though and understand you must suspend belief if you are going to get through this book without thinking it is one of the most crazy stories you have ever read. Shea and Vincent have so much happen to them physically while they are trying to get through the wilderness, it is a little surprising they had time for romance. But still, I enjoyed this book.
Shea and Vince are both on a plane for different reasons. She doesn’t trust him, and he is intrigued by her. Shea is on the plane to get to the custody hearing so she can have her son back. When the plane crashes in the Alaskan wilderness, they have to rely on one another to survive. And I must say the book wastes no time putting them together because they have to snuggle together to stay warm and survive right away. And they have to share food and just depend on each other in order to live. It is a lot right away, but it fits in with how fast paced these suspense books are.
I enjoyed the romance, especially because she did not want to like him at first. She is focused on her son, and he is attracted to her because she has a passion for her family. Vincent wants to make sure she lives and gets to her son, and he also maybe wants to have his own kids with her. Yes, they have a lot happen to them in a short amount of time. I was shocked they were not dead. But it was still a great read, and I was glad to see the cover have such a hot dude with long hair. It reminded me of Jason Mamoa, and I was all for jumping into the book.
There is a happily ever after, and it is cute. I would like to pick up more in this series because they are fast paced and easy to read.
Overall, I really enjoyed this romance and would suggest this to romance fans and those who like a little extra adventure added in.
Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin books for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
