Suitable for young adults? This is an adult book, but suitable for mature teens

Trigger warnings? No

If the future looks bleak, and you see a way to change it, would you try?

In The Psychic’s Memoirs, a hot-tempered Los Angeles detective and his distracted partner are assigned to find an alleged teenage psychicwhose capture might determine the outcome of a looming civil war and humanity’s relationship with a misleading alien force. The standalone novel is part of Ryan Hyatt’s Terrafide series, techie tales of woe and hope in which characters grapple with a world falling apart. The Terrafide universe, which also includes Rise of the Liberators and Stay Younger Longer, takes place on an alternate timeline that mirrors and mimics present-day events.

My Review:

3.5/5 Stars

I am not a sci-fi person. But I do like paranormal. This book was an interesting mash up of the two. You must take the ideas in this book and let go of your ideas of reality while reading. Once you do so, this book becomes more enjoyable and immersive.

This is the story of two opposites placed together to work on a case. Wanting to do their best, they work together to get the job done well.

Alice is the only one who can save the world, and the journey to her and about her is very well written. I could not stop reading once I had started, seeing the various POVs and what Alice must endure.

An interesting story about a world amidst chaos, I would definitely say this works for scifi and fans of post apocalypse books.

A huge thank you to Blackthorn Tours and the author for this review copy. All thoughts and opinions are solely mine.
