I stayed up until 3 AM to finish this book, not something I tend to do too often when it comes to romance books. Not that there is anything wrong with romance, I just never get that sucked into a book until this one. I was okay I will put it down and go to bed a few times and ended up picking it back up because I could not stop reading,
I loved this book so much because of the characters. Shay and Dominic are well written Shay has such a passion for public radio, and it has been her job for ten years. Which is awesome. When the station is changing, she and Dominic are asked to host a show where they pretend to be exes and talk to people like a podcast. The show is a hit and more of that tension between the pair builds. It is glorious.
What did I love most about this book? The way they fight is great. But I like that Dominic is younger and a little smug. I love the younger guy trope and was just hooked from this alone. I fell for Dominic the same way because he is smart and cute. He is all about journalism, but he also wants to help Shay for the show. It shows me he is a deep person, and he cared about more than just his career.
I was also hooked by how they pretended to be exes, but the romance was building. When they are sent away for a weekend, I was like omg and it was one of the best parts of the book Just watching them develop feelings made me squee and the book was impossible for me to put down at that point.
This is one of the most fun and awesome romance books I have read in a long time. The author knocks it out of the park with two diverse MCs, a jewish woman and a korean man. Fantastic. I just could not get enough and loved every page of. this book.
I would say all romance lovers should read this book, it is that amazing.
A huge thank you to NetGalley and Berkeley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
